Obituary for Ashfield Hartman "Ash" Bozarth III
Ashfield Hartman Bozarth, III, age 80, peacefully departed this earth on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at home in Kilmarnock, Virginia with his wife of 57 years at his side.
Born October 20, 1938 in Trenton, NJ, Ash was the oldest son of Ashfield Hartman Bozarth, Jr. and Anna Mae Marti Bozarth.
Ash served in the U. S. Army Security Service in Germany. He attended Rider College in Trenton and graduated from the University of Maryland. In 1967, he moved to Maryland where he worked for the Defense Department at the National Security Agency for 27 years before retiring as a foreign relations officer. Ash moved to the Kilmarnock area in 1996 where he enjoyed living on the water among the birds and other wild creatures that inhabited the yard and nearby woods. He liked to travel but boats and old cars were his passions. He enjoyed sailing the Bay on his 34 foot sailboat when he lived in Maryland and after moving to Virginia, he enjoyed traveling the intracoastal waterway on his Grand Banks trawler for ten seasons to spend the winters in Marathon, Florida.
Ash is survived by his wife, Patricia Grigsby Bozarth; his brothers, Rudolph Bozarth and wife, Jan, William Bozarth and wife, Karen and Walter Bozarth; nephews, Brian Bozarth, Mark Bozarth and Kyle Bozarth and niece, Kristen Bozarth.
