Obituary for Beverly Jean Haase (Reber)

Beverly Jean Haase passed away on Thursday, June 13, 2019 at the age of 86. Born in Toledo, Ohio on October 15, 1932, she was later raised in Hanover, PA. One of the great joys of Bev’s life was her immediate family. She was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by her devoted husband George Haase of 66 years, who describes her unwavering support as the “wind beneath his wings,” her two daughters Denni Haase-Bushong (m. to Steve) and Chris Haase Love (m. to Jeems) and her five grandchildren: Matthew, Ethan, and Taylor Bushong; Jessie Love Bristol (m. to Clark), and Corbin Love (m. to Crystal).
Over the course of 20 years as an Elementary School Secretary, she became well-known for her ability to balance the school’s books by hand. She volunteered her time keeping financial records for the Mathews Volunteer Rescue Squad, serving the RGH Auxiliary through Seconds Unlimited, and was active in local Women’s Home Demonstration Clubs. Bev was a talented crafter of fiber arts. She mastered crochet and knitting, and later moved on to quilting. Over the course of her retirement, she handmade a quilt for each of her immediate family members. She is remembered for her strong devotion to family and sharp wit.
