Obituary for Michael Morchower

MORCHOWER, Michael. 79, died June 9, 2019. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill
Morchower and and Ruth Leyner Morchower, and also his beautiful son, Randolph Lee
Morchower. He is survived by his wife, Kathy, his son, Michael Todd Morchower (Sarah), and
his grand daughter, Malone O’Brian Morchower. Michael was born in Bayonne, New Jersey, on
April 10, 1940. He moved to Richmond to attend University of Richmond on a basketball
scholarship, B.A. 1962. He then graduated T.C. Williams School of Law, LL.B., 1965. He made
both Richmond and Irvington his home for many years. Michael served as an FBI agent from
1965 to 1967, an Assistant U.S. attorney from 1967 to 1969, and a U.S. Magistrate for the
Eastern District from 1969 to 1975. He was in his own private law practice from the early
1970’s until he retired in 2012. His superb litigation skills propelled him to success and earned
him great respect for his abilities. His heart was big, his joie de vivre great, and his generous
spirit large. “Magic Mike”. He was magical in the way he lived life and practiced law. He will
be sorely missed by his family, his friends, his colleagues, and many others whom both loved
and respected him. There will be a reception for friends and family at the Commonwealth Club,
June 21 st at 3:00 p.m. There will also be a memorial service At Good Luck Vinyard in
Kilmarnock on June 23 from 3:00 until 5:00. In lieu of flowers, you may send a contribution to
