Obituary

William "Bill" Edward Eldert, III, 85 of Morattico, Virginia passed away on Friday, June 28, 2019. Born in Alexandria, Va., he was the son of William Edward Eldert, Jr. and Mary Etta Eldert.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, William Edward Eldert, IV; six siblings; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Frances K. Eldert; two daughters, Theresa E. Albright and Donna L. Burns; a son, Michael D. Eldert; sister, Janice Lackey; 11 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Bill graduated from Mt. Vernon High School. He worked for VEPCO for a few years and then went to work for Holiday Inns for 10 years. After that, he did construction work and went to work for Mary Washington Hospital. Bill moved to Orlando, Florida where he opened his own cabinetry shop. He remained in Florida for 17 years until he retired to Morattico, Va. During those years, Bill did exceptional cabinet work for many people in the area.

He was an active member of Moose Lodge # 2527 and the Morattico Waterfront Museum.

Bill loved all of his grandchildren, great grandchildren and his great-great grandchild. They were his world. He will be missed by his family and many friends.

So sorry for your loss. My best memory is when I thought I could out drink him, boy was I mistaken. Hang on to all the good memories. Know that mom (Barbara Flack) and I (Sharon Flack Brooks) have the family in our prayers.
